I returned from a weekend trip to find that my Limited Edition LÜM-TEC M61 WATCH TALK FORUMS watch had finally been delivered!

For those that don’t know, back in October of last year, I drove up to LÜM-TEC’s headquarters near Cleveland and did a factory tour.  During that great day, I had suggested to the powers that be that LÜM-TEC do a special edition WATCH TALK FORUMS model, to celebrate the LÜM-TEC forum on WATCH TALK FORUMS.  They liked the idea, so we held a contest in which members of the forum submitted design ideas, and members would vote on the design they liked best.  The forum watch would be based on the existing M51, so the winner didn’t actually design the watch.  But the contest winner (forum member Watchfan1)  did come up with a fantastic dial concept which was used in the forum watch – limited to just 50 examples, it sold out in less than 24 hours.

Without further adieu, here’s my first studio photo of the LÜM-TEC M61 on a Kain Heritage blue alligator strap (click on the photo for a larger view):

As you can see on the case back, I own #1 of 50 of this very special watch:

LÜM-TEC was the first watch brand that selected WATCH TALK FORUMS to host a brand sponsored forum on the site, so their a pretty special company to me.  Now that I no longer own WATCH TALK FORUMS, I think the M61 is a perfect “retirement” gift which I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.  The M61 sold out so quickly, LÜM-TEC decided to do another 50 piece limited edition M62, which features a PVD coated case.  I should ship next month – can’t wait to see my pair of #1’s together!  🙂
