Let’s face facts folks – it’s a red dot world. #dotlife. Military, law enforcement, armed civilians, and competitive shooters all use optics on their firearms. From holographic red dots on pistols to red dot illuminated scopes on long guns. But have the latest gee-wiz optic on your firearm does little good if the glass is dirty or obscured with smudge marks. So if you have a firearm with any kind of optic, you need Rainbow Foam Tip Optic Swabs:
I first learned about these little miracles from Steve Foster and Jeff Jones on the Steel Target Paint Podcast – it’s a great weekly podcast which I never miss:
It’s a product offered by RangeStore.net which I think benefits anyone that shoots with any type of optic. If you’re like me, you clean your optic with some sort of cleaning cloth, and maybe some form of lens cleaner. Often what happens in this process is that you end up pushing gunk that’s on the glass to the outer edges where depending on the design of the optic it can be extremely challenging to remove. On the Trijicon RMR it’s particularly frustrating to try and clean the outer edges of the glass with just a cleaning cloth, but other optics can be nearly as difficult to clean. I find it extremely distracting and annoying to shoot through an optic that exhibits smear marks on the perimeter of the glass. That’s where the Foam Tip Optic Swabs come in – they allow you to get to those hard to reach areas on your optic and easily clean them. The foam tips not only conform to tiny nooks and crannies on an optic where dirt and residue can hide, but they also leave nothing behind on the glass. I’ve tried using “Q-Tips” which seem to leave more smear marks than they clean. But the Foam Tip Optic Swabs work like a charm:
A pack of 50 swabs is just $12.50 and they will last you forever as you can reuse them several times. I keep several with me in my range bags – particularly those I take to competitions. It’s handy to be able to run over to a safe table and clean off my optic between stages when it’s needed.
Just say “no” to dirty optics with Rainbow Foam Tip Optic Swabs from RangeStore.Net!
