PARTNERSHIP WITH COMPETITIVE SHOOTER JOHN HOLBROOK
Many shooters seek sponsorship – let me say up front that’s not what I’m looking for in a business relationship. “Sponsorship” implies providing charitable benevolence – a gift. I prefer “partnership” because I’m seeking a mutually beneficial relationship. In short, I’m willing to provide value to your organization. Moreover, my goal is to provide more value to you than the consideration you provide.
PROFESSIONAL FREELANCE WRITER AND PHOTOGRAPHER
Perhaps the greatest value I can bring to your company is my 20+ years of experience doing freelance writing and photography, with scores of print articles in traditional magazines to my credit, as well as hundreds of articles in “digital print” online. Let me know if you’d like to see some examples of my work. Let me put that experience and capability to work for your company.
EQUIPPED FOR SUCCESS
I bring value to my corporate partners with the thousands of dollars worth of professional photo and video production equipment with the capability of either remote production or production in my own home studio.
ESTABLISHED ONLINE PLATFORMS
I started the website ThruMyLens back in 2010, and since that time I have published over 400 articles on the site. Rich with content, the site generates ~1000 views per day.
ThruMyLens also has a YouTube Channel designed to supplement the written articles I publish on ThruMyLens.org, as well as to drive traffic to the site and expand my own brand awarness. The ThruMyLens YouTube Channel has over 2000 subscribers (and growing) and over 100 videos which garner thousands of views.
STRONG SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE
I have a strong, organic presence on both Facebook (over 10 years) and Instagram (over 5 years) as well as several online forums relevant to competitive shooting, and am adept at leveraging social media platforms to promote my corporate partners.
A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS WITH PARTNERS
In 2019, I partnered with two of biggest sponsors in USPSA/Steel Challenge – Steel Target Paint and Hunters HD Gold. Throughout 2019, I helped drive product sales for both companies, providing well over and above the support they provided to me in both top line sales and bottom line growth. I’m proud to say that both companies are enthusiastic about continuing our partnership for 2020. If you’re curious as to how much of an impact my efforts made for these companies, I invite you to reach out to Larry Steeley, President of Steel Target Paint, or Brian Conley, President of Hunters HD Gold. Just let me know if you need their contact information.
2019 SHOOTING PERFORMANCE
You may be more interested in what I can do with a 35mm camera than what I can do with a 9mm handgun, but my having success in competition is actually important to both us. You want your products in the hands of a winner.
By the end of the 2019 shooting season, I competed in over 30 competitive shooting events including 3-Gun, USPSA, and Steel Challenge at the local, state, and national levels. It was a particularly successful year for me in Steel Challenge where I placed in every single Level I, II, III, and even Level IV (World Speed Shooting Championship) match in which I entered, including 2 overall match wins.
Total Steel Challenge Matches: 19
Total 1st Place Finishes in Carry Optics Pistol Division: 6
Total 1st Place Finishes in Pistol Caliber Carbine Rifle Division: 5
Thank you taking the time to read about and consider partnering with my me in my competitive shooting ventures in the upcoming year. I look forwarding to our mutual success in 2020 and beyond.
