Photographing Caffeine and Fuel in Cincinnati

I finally got the opportunity to head down to a Caffeine and Fuel Cincinnati car event.  It’s a car meetup that’s been happening weekly for about two years now.  I only heard about it last year, but never had the opportunity to go to one of their events – which I sincerely regret because they’ve been forced to change venues.  Previously they were partnered with Element Eatery in Cincinnati which had an amazing aesthetic for the high-end euros and exotics that the event drew.  There was also the advantage of being able to into Element Eater or any of the nearby restaurants to grab something to eat.

That’s one of my biggest pet peeves about Dayton Cars & Coffee – they sell donuts during their events but that’s about it.  Despite being located in Austin Landing, there’s nothing to eat that’s located to near where the cars all park at their events.

The new location is at K-Ceps body shop in Cincinnati:

It has the advantage of having ample parking, but the vibe is obviously different.  At this first event in this new location, they did have a coffee vendor:

In speaking with the event organizer, he indicated there will be food trucks in subsequent weeks.  I arrived early and was able to get a nice shot of my own 2022 BMW X3 M before the lot filled:

The event did not disappoint.  The lot soon filled with a variety of BMWs, Porches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and even a McLaren:

The highlight of the event was the arrival of this Bugatti Chiron – my first ever opportunity to photograph a Bugatti:

The event was a good 40-minute drive for me but I’d consider returning based on the quality of the cars I saw at the event.  The new location I’m sure has more room than the previous one.  One of the most difficult things about organizing car meet ups is securing a location.  So many fantastic venues want nothing to do with the car community thanks to the behavior of some attendees – engine revving, burn-outs, and general high-speed shenanigans.  My hat goes off to anyone who can navigate the challenging logistics and put together a successful event like Caffeine and Fuel Cincinnati.  I particularly appreciate an event that happens weekly – that’s provides a lot of flexibility for me when I do photography gear testing for reviews.
